The German Advisory Group within the framework of the Technical Aid Agreement of the German Federal Government for Namibia
The Federal Government's Equipment Aid Programme for foreign armed forces has been in existence for more than 4 decades. Responsible for the implementation of this programme are groups of seconded technical advisors of the Bundeswehr.
In 1992, Namibia joined the Equipment Aid Programme as recipient country. Since then, five agreements had been concluded for approximately € 20 million. The current tranche of € 4 million ends in December 2012. Preparations are under way for a 6th agreement, covering the four-year period 2012 – 2016, which is scheduled to be signed during the latter half of 2012.
