The German Advisory Group within the framework of the Technical Aid Agreement of the German Federal Government for Namibia

The Federal Government's Equipment Aid Programme for foreign armed forces has been in existence for more than 4 decades.  Responsible for the implementation of this programme are groups of seconded technical advisors of the Bundeswehr.

In 1992, Namibia joined the Equipment Aid Programme as recipient country.  Since then, seven agreements had been concluded for approximately  € 30 million. The current tranche (6,8 million Euro) will run until December 2020. The seventh agreement was signed on 10th November 2016 between the Namibian Ministry of Defence and the German Federal Ministry of Defence. Thus the cooperation between the two states in this area will continue from 2017 until 2020.
