Invitation to Germany for the Acting Chief Archivist of the Namibian National Archives

The Acting Chief Archivist of the National Archives in Windhoek, Mrs Martha Nakanyala, has been invited to participate in a visit to Germany, themed “Archive Maintenance in Germany”. The visit takes place from 8 October until 14 October 2017 and is part of the Visitors Programme of the Federal Republic of Germany. 

Together with participants from Togo, Ruanda, Tanzania and Cameroon, Mrs Nakanyala will have discussions with representatives of German archives, universities and foundations. The programme will include talks on opportunities and techniques for heritage preservation related to German colonial history and will update on research in the field of archiving in Germany.

Practical examples will be shown at visits of the Berlin State Archives, the Secret State Archives Prussian Cultural Heritage, the Federal Archives and the Political Archives of the Federal Foreign Office.
