Bilateral economic relations

Germany traditionally ranks as one of the major importers in Namibia's foreign trade relations. A bilateral Investment Protection Treaty is in force since 1997.


Ohorongo Cement and others support Otavi community

An important and successful example of a German Company investing in Namibia is the Ohorongo Cement plant near Otavi by the Schwenk group. The plant provides employment for around 330 people directly and 2000 people indirectly.


Launch of a Public Private Partnership for HIV prevention

On the 19th of May 2014, a Public Private Partnership between the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS) and Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) for HIV prevention was launched. In attendance at the event were the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Services, Petrina Haingura and the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Namibia, Onno Hückmann.
