German Embassy hands over books authored by Namibian women to school and community libraries

The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany handed over books authored by Namibian women to school and community libraries.
The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Windhoek provided funds to the Women's Leadership Centre to donate 30 sets of their publications to the School Library Service and Community Service for distribution to libraries in Omaheke and Karas Regions.
These books were officially handed over to the School and Community Library Services by Mr. André Scholz, Chargé d'Affairs, Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany on 8 May 2012 at 10:00 hrs in the National Library.
This hand over of books represents a milestone in the provisions of texts authored by Namibian women to readers in the two regions, Omaheke and Karas.
These publications will also generate greater awareness of the situation of women in Namibia today and build empathy, solidarity and respect for women and women's rights.
The Women's Leadership Centre is a Namibian women's rights organisaiton that promotes the voice, visibility and leadership of Namibian women, particularly those from poor, rural and marginalised sectors of society who are still struggling for the full recognition and protection of their human rights as persons and as citizens.
