Officially inaugurated in 2004, it was co-financed by the German Embassy in Windhoek.

On Monday 13 June 2011 the German Embassy in Windhoek donated paint and utensils valued at N$ 6 000,00 to the Eenhana Town Council and the Multipurpose Youth Centre, Eenhana.  The donation is to be used for painting a mural with the theme “the important role of women in rural health” on the Expectant Mothers’ Shelter.  Young talented artists from Eenhana have been selected to create this mural and will thereby become engaged in community development, be encouraged to explore their talents in the area of visual arts and to express their creativity in relation to social issues.
