04.07.2011 - Musical Instruments for the Brass Instrument Training Institute

The Brass Instrument Training Institute (BITI) in Katutura will receive a donation of musical instruments, i.e. six trumpets, a tuba and a trombone from the German Embassy to the value of almost N$ 44.802,00.

This donation in kind now enables the institute to extend its curriculum and to offer its students practical music lessons as well.  Due to the shortage of instruments in the past, students could only complete the theoretical part of their course of study in music (music theory, composition, arrangement of music and music reading).

The instruments were handed over to the Director of the BITI, Mr Moses Seibeb, by the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Namibia, Egon Kochanke.

The Embassy is pleased to support the school within the framework of the well-established cultural co-operation between Germany and Namibia.
