28.09.2011 - Informal visit of German Naval Task Group to Walvis Bay
A German Naval Task Group, consisting of the FGS SACHSEN and the FGS SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN, under the command of Captain Eike Wetters, will visit the port of Walvis Bay from 30 September until 04 October 2011. The Task Group has only recently completed an extensive operational trial programme off the coast of South Africa, including live firings of various missiles. The 400 sailors on board are very much looking forward to visiting Namibia.
On its way back to its home port in Wilhelmshaven, Germany, the Task Group will furthermore visit Luanda/Angola on 07 October and Tenerife/Spain on 19 October 2011.
On Saturday, 1 October 2011 the Task Group will open the ship´s gangways for visitors between 13:00 and 16:00.
